I wish you cited your sources for some of the info you gave about the house history. I worked there for many years and some of the things you mentioned regarding slaves were “news to me.” If you check with the Abner Baker Chapter of the DOC, you could probably get a pretty good history of the Baker family, and there are still members of the Peters family and Rogers family in the area.
In regards to the more malicious aspects of the history, we were going off of what we were told by several of the current workers in the dental office downstairs. I suppose I could have mentioned that.
